    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Phil Parkinson is trying to guide Wrexham to a third-straight promotion, which would be a remarkable achievement. They currently face competition from the likes of Birmingham and Wycombe, but they've shown that they're not out of place in the third tier and will hope to celebrate reaching the Championship next summer – possibly with another Las Vegas-type trip.

  • WHAT CREIGHTON SAID

Creighton told BBC Radio Wales Breakfast: "If that happens, it's not bad is it? I think it's absolutely astonishing, in all honesty, to go two promotions back to back and now are we dreaming of a third? Is there a chance of a third? I think there is, at the moment, from what we've seen so far.

"Whilst we're not always pretty, we always seem to find a way to grind a result out, and that is a sign of a really good side. So if we can keep doing this… if you can get through the busy Christmas period and into the New Year, and you are still there or thereabouts, we've got a great chance. And that is astonishing to even say."

Creighton didn't believe his former club even stood a chance of promotion when the season started.

"I said 'no, I didn't' straight off the bat because we were almost running before we could walk, but we're still sprinting, which is brilliant for us," he added.

  • TELL ME MORE

The former defender was in attendance at the SToK Racecourse to watch the win over Lincoln, which came when James McClean's shot was diverted into his own goal by Tendayi Darikwa in the 67th minute.

Creighton praised Parkinson's players for their "super-efficient" display.

"We had to be good in possession, we had to be good out of possession, and I think we ticked all the boxes," he added. "Last night might not have been pretty at all times, but we were certainly super-efficient."
